Warm again for late October, training went well. Again we had lots of hares, they were enormous, we decided they must be on steroids!

Went training with dad today, it was me and my shadow. He found time and time again, I tried to keep up but he is very fit. We also had to contend with deer and hare!

We were accompanied by Zuri as she was up on her holidays. She thought it was play time and kept jumping on me - ambush! Eventually I got fed up - I was trying to hunt! We found a few birds but spent a lot of time at the water.

October, but the hottest day of the year!
Still doing obedience and ringcraft, but my favourite today - back on the shoot and another opportunity to swim, at a larger pond this time - great fun as well as a cool down after helping find all those birds.
I had my first hen pheasant retreive to hand today - mum was very proud!
We finished off with a cool down in the water trough!

Today, dogging in, I had new friends, Angel and Woody.
We all had a swim, did lots more investigating and I am getting the hang of negotiating the very large cover crops.
I made Woody jump when I appeared out of the crop unexpectedly!

Dogging in again with my buddies.
Today I retreived a pheasant that had been found for me.
I went for a swim, with permission this time!
I also learnt that I must go back to mum when I hear that whistle!

Today we visited a lovely shop and while mum was looking at collars I helped myself to a very large cuddly toy, well it was at my head height so must have been meant for me!

Today I went on my first hunting expedition - dogging in I think it's called.
I had two Viszlas to help me, they were very good and waited for me when I wasn't sure.
As I got more confident I investigated a very dark hedge and ditch and found a dead pheasant.
I brought it out, very proudly.
I think they were pleased!
